This frame, HET1, was the first of five frames raced in the Tour of Britian in 1952, and one of three known to be extant (HET3 and HET5 are also extant). This one was ridden by Bill Bellamy, team no. 58. All five frames are noted in the ledgers bearing unusual frame numbers.
The current owner has kitted the frame as raced. One notes the period-exact seat tube transfer, 'suicide' front gear changer, and aluminium bottle with cork stopper, corroborated by a period photo of the bike together with Bellamy and Hyman.
