This Experto Crede was sold on 25th January 1958 to a dealer; the ledgers specify a 23-inch frame with curly stays. As the stays here are straight, we may conclude that the rear end was damaged and repaired. Several clues confirm this diagnosis: the chain stays are round-oval, which would be anachronistic for a 1958 frame; the bb shell has an extended point along the ch. stays (atypical for a Hetchins, but nicely matching the original fork crown), and the brake bridge is atypical for a Hetchins. Nonetheless, the workmanship appears to be good.
Components include: TA crankset, Suntour Cyclone mechs front and rear, Craft steel stem with Cinelli bar, Brooks saddle, Campag NR head set bearing, modern dual-pivot brakes.
As can be seen from the start number, the bike is actively ridden in vintage events.
